When I was renewing my home insurance I found that one didn't work and the other sent me ridiculously cheap quotes with companies I had never heard of that covered me for virtually nothing. In the end I went with my mortgage company. The quote they gave me was £75 cheaper than my current insurer (who later decided they couldn't renew as I lived too close to a river).
